Whew! The first weekend is over. Yes, I was nervous, a good nervous though. First impressions are so important. I felt like a like a teenager going to high school for the first time. You remember the feeling, I hope I fit in; I hope they like me and I hope I don’t have a lot of homework. It went well. I had some members of my former church come up for my first weekend. They were so impressed, as I was as well. They noticed not only the beauty of the church, but the conscientiousness of all the ministers. They observed how well they performed on the altar. The Eucharistic ministers carry themselves with such reverence and seriousness. I too, am amazed how our ushers are not only so considerate and friendly, but they dress so well. I never seen so many with ties and suit jackets. In Florida? In the summer? Now that is commitment! Another great feature is the mixture of ages especially with our servers and lectors. It is great that the young and not as young work so well together. The choir and cantors did a splendid job. That is an impressive choir we have at the nine o’clock mass. Everything is set up just right. Thank you, Sacristans. I see you love your ministry, you love your church, and of course thanks to all those who attend. We have a wonderful family. St Therese knew what she was doing when she sent me here. May I do my part to make this church the best that it can be:
