Sacraments & Sacramental Preparation

We believe that Religious Education is ongoing from womb to tomb.  We strive to offer programs for all stages of life.

We believe everyone is on a journey in his/her faith life.  We strive to be a guide on that journey.  We believe Jesus was the perfect example of a teacher.  We strive to be like Jesus.  We believe that a relationship with Jesus will guarantee a peace known to friends of Jesus. We strive to empower all to live as disciples of Jesus.  We believe it takes a village to raise a child.  We strive to be that village of faith that will be a resource for families in this community.

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

In a sacramental marriage, God’s love becomes present to the spouses in their total union and also flows through them to their family and community.

By their permanent, faithful and exclusive giving to each other, symbolized in sexual intercourse, the couple reveals something of God’s unconditional love.

The sacrament of Christian marriage involves their entire life as they journey together through the ups and downs of marriage and become more able to give to and receive from each other.  Their life becomes sacramental to the extent that the couple cooperates with God’s action in their life and sees themselves as living “in Christ” and Christ living and acting in their relationship, attitudes and actions.

Are you in a Sacramental Marriage today? ….Are you in graces with the Church?  If you were married as a baptized Catholic and divorced and have not remarried you are still in graces with the Catholic Church.  …But if you were divorced and re-married without an annulment you are not in full graces with the Catholic Church.

This can be changed by the annulment process that has been slightly altered by the Catholic Church (Vatican).  The Catholic Church wants all to be in communion with the Our Lord, our Faith and Teachings of the Church.  Many annulment factors have changed and there is no expense to anyone.

Schedules & Dates

This year  St. Theresa’s Religious Education/Faith Formation will use Our Sunday Visitor’s Alive In Christ.  This is in a book format session, for children, youth, and adults.

Families will meet bi-monthly in the parish hall for an intergenerational gathering.  It is considered a class and follows with the lesson book.  In the following pages of the booklet, you will find the calendar of sessions for Intergenerational classes for children and youth.

We will also continue to follow Diocesan policy by providing grade level sessions on L.I.F.E., the safety and sexuality program for children and youth.

The catechists of St. Theresa’s are preparing for an exciting new year of faith formation.
